HAK warns: Wind restrictions for vehicles in coastal areas, roadworks on A3 until October

Due to strong winds on roads in the coastal area, restrictions are in place for certain categories of vehicles, the Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) reported on Thursday, August 13, 2026. On most other roads, traffic is flowing without special restrictions, but occasional delays are being recorded on sections where roadworks are ongoing.
HAK has called on drivers to adjust their speed and driving style to road conditions, respect traffic regulations and restrictions, and maintain a safe distance between vehicles. Caution is especially recommended on open sections exposed to wind gusts.
Due to a serious traffic accident on state road DC8 in the town of Zaton, traffic is being managed with temporary regulation. On the A1 motorway, between the Brinje and Ogulin interchanges towards Zagreb, a dog was spotted on the carriageway, so traffic on this section is limited to 40 kilometers per hour.
On the A3 motorway Bregana - Lipovac, between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad interchanges, the carriageway towards Lipovac is closed until October 3 due to roadworks. Two-way traffic is being diverted onto the carriageway towards Bregana, with two narrowed lanes in each direction. HAK warns that due to increased traffic density, congestion and queues may occur, especially in the morning and afternoon, as well as throughout the day on weekends.
