Croatian Air Force Helicopter Transports Critically Ill Patient from Šibenik to Zagreb

A four-member crew from the 395th Transport Helicopter Squadron of the 93rd Air Force Base successfully completed an urgent inter-hospital transfer.
Members of the Croatian Air Force (CAF) carried out an urgent inter-hospital transfer of a critically ill female patient on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. The patient was transported by Mi-171Sh helicopter from Šibenik General Hospital to Dubrava University Hospital in Zagreb, the Ministry of Defense (MORH) announced.
The mission involved a four-member flight crew from the 395th Transport Helicopter Squadron of the 93rd Air Force Base. The helicopter took off from the "Knez Trpimir" barracks in Divulje at exactly 5:45 PM, after which the flight crew picked up the patient in Šibenik. Accompanied by a medical team, the patient was then transported to Zagreb, where the helicopter landed at 7:16 PM. Immediately upon landing, she was handed over to the medical staff of Dubrava University Hospital for further treatment.
The helicopter captain highlighted what was crucial during the flight. "The most important thing was to transport the patient to Zagreb safely and in the shortest possible time. The entire flight crew was focused on safely and quickly completing the mission so that the patient could receive the necessary medical care in a timely manner," the captain said, as reported by MORH.
The Croatian Army and the Croatian Air Force regularly provide support in emergency situations across the country. Such operations confirm their constant readiness to act quickly and effectively in circumstances where timely response and safe air transport are crucial for the lives of citizens.
