Who can become a blood donor?

Any person in good general health can become a blood donor. The age limit is between 18 and 65 years, and the minimum body weight is 55 kilograms. Of course, all other medical criteria for donor selection, which are checked on-site, must also be met.

Men can donate blood every three months, while women can do so every four months. The good news is that you can come to donate up to seven days before the scheduled date. If you are unsure when you last donated blood, the information can be found in your Blood Donor Card. Those who do not have one can obtain the information by calling 01/4600-337.

When and where can you donate blood?

The blood donation drive is organized at Petrova 3 in Zagreb. Blood can be donated on weekdays from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Before coming, it is recommended to have a light meal and drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids. Be sure to bring your ID card or passport and your health insurance card. If you have a Blood Donor Card, bring it as well so that your new donation can be recorded.
