The football club from the City of Heroes has released a special edition jersey ahead of Marko Perković Thompson's humanitarian concert in Vukovar on August 29.
HNK Vukovar 1991 unveiled a special edition jersey dedicated to Marko Perković Thompson on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, as reported by Narod.hr. The release comes ahead of the musician's humanitarian concert in Vukovar on August 29, with the club announcing on social media that orders are now open.
The design follows Thompson's current tour, "Pilgrim 2026." Alongside the HNK Vukovar 1991 crest, the jersey features the concert date (29.8.), the initials MPT, and the tour's name. Promotional materials carry the message "A tear in the eye, pride in the heart."
The concert, titled "Vukovar, Together for the Future," is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, at the Vukovar Business Zone, starting at 8 PM. All proceeds after covering costs will go toward completing the Salesian Student Dormitory in Zagreb and the "You Are Vukovar Too" campaign, which aims to build the Stadium of 12 Croatian Policemen.
This is not the first time the club from Vukovar has released a jersey with strong city symbolism. Last November, players wore a black jersey featuring the Vukovar Water Tower, paying tribute to the city's sacrifice.
