Influencer Christina Karapetyan experienced an unpleasant incident on the streets of Limassol, Cyprus, and decided to share her experience with her followers on social media. As she described in a video, a group of Croatian football fans shouted offensive comments at her, and the situation escalated when she decided to approach them and ask for an explanation.

Catcalling and Confrontation

Karapetyan recounted how the men in the group began shouting the word "how much" at her, insinuating prostitution. "Look at how I'm dressed. A top, a cap, shorts, and sneakers. It's summer, it's 32 degrees, and it's really hot outside. I don't think I look like someone who should be catcalled on the street with 'How much?' But look at the behavior of these people, football fans. Where are they from? They're from Croatia," the influencer said.

Instead of ignoring the provocation, she decided to approach them and directly ask why they were addressing her in such a manner. The footage shows her walking toward the group and demanding an explanation, but the men showed no intention of calming the situation. On the contrary, they reacted aggressively, and at one point, a plastic cup was thrown at her.

"This Is Enough to Make You Cry"

Visibly upset after the ordeal, Karapetyan spoke about the double standards that, in her opinion, some men apply toward unknown women. "I'm pretty sure that if any of them has or will one day have a daughter or a sister, and if some unknown man approached her on the street and shouted 'how much,' they would immediately go up to him and ask what his problem is," she said.

She emphasized that she doesn't understand why a woman's way of dressing would give anyone the right to insult and humiliate her, especially during summer heat when people naturally wear lighter clothing. "Why do they want women to feel this way? How should women dress when it's this hot outside? Why do we, as women, have to be worth less, and why do we have to be shamed just for walking down the street?" she wondered. She ended her address with an emotional message: "This is enough to make you cry."
