Thousands of fans from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have been arriving at the stadium since early hours, with heightened security measures and a special traffic regime in place.
Imotski is the center of the music world in Croatia tonight. Marko Perković Thompson will hold his long-awaited concert at the Gospin dolac stadium, and according to HRT reporter Dominik Strize, the atmosphere has been electric for hours before the musician takes the stage. The spectacle is scheduled to begin at 9 PM.
Thousands of fans are pouring into the town from all parts of Croatia and neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although there were speculations in recent days that the concert wasn't sold out, the scene on the ground suggests otherwise. "Judging by what we see at and around the stadium, we believe it will be filled to capacity," said HRT reporter Dominik Strize. The Gospin dolac stadium has a capacity of 15,000 people.
Due to the large number of visitors, a special traffic regime is in effect. Police, stewards, and traffic wardens are managing the roads, directing vehicles to parking lots to avoid major congestion. "Traffic wardens, police, and stewards are directing people to parking lots to prevent congestion," Strize confirmed, adding that the approach to the stadium has been problem-free.
To prevent potential incidents, police will be recording the entire event throughout the evening, and offenders will be sanctioned. A drone flight ban has also been imposed over Imotski up to an altitude of 500 meters, aimed at protecting air traffic.
HRT reporter Dominik Strize also relayed the organizers' promise. "The organizers promise this will be a spectacle to remember," Strize said. His impression from Imotski is more than positive.
