The activist showdown with former Split mayor Željko Kerum has reached its financial conclusion. Ivošević, who has been engaged in legal battles with Kerum for years, boasted on Saturday that he had successfully collected the debt, and with substantial interest at that.
According to a post reported by Tportal, Ivošević stated: "Not only did I manage to get paid by him, but I did so with €382.84 in interest. Next time he thinks about suing me without cause, he'll think twice."
A few days ago, Ivošević informed the public that he had enforced a debt of €121 against Kerum. On that occasion, as Tportal reports, he also recounted the full chronology of their conflict, which dates back to his early twenties.
"You're a young lad, barely of legal age, and you set out to fight the political tumor of the city," Ivošević wrote, recalling the beginnings of his activism at Split's Matejuška. There, he fought for the right of young people to bring their own drinks, and he claims that threats from Kerum's inner circle came during that period, prompting police intervention.
The culmination of the years-long saga, according to Ivošević, occurred now that he has turned 35. After winning in the first-instance court, he proceeded with enforcement. "You withdraw the last €120.94 from his account. You freeze it. He still owes you €2,245.27. That's Željko Kerum. Enforced. Frozen. On the road to rock bottom," Ivošević wrote.
He concluded by saying he is proud of his younger self who didn't get scared and back down, adding that that young man couldn't have imagined "bringing that arrogant power broker to the beggar's staff."
