Firefighters Battled Truck and Forest Fire Simultaneously

The fire also spread to a nearby forest, so firefighters from the Lipik Volunteer Fire Department (DVD Lipik) simultaneously fought the forest fire and brought the truck fire under control. According to a report from the Lipik firefighters posted on Facebook, they responded with 8 firefighters and three vehicles and found the truck and trailer engulfed in flames.

"We responded with 8 firefighters and three vehicles. We found the truck (with trailer) in flames, and due to the intense heat, the fire spread to the surrounding forest. We simultaneously began extinguishing the truck and forest fires, and within a short time, the forest fire was extinguished and the truck fire was brought under control. The cargo area was full of textiles, plastic sheeting, and crates, which were also affected by the high temperatures. Due to a lack of water, we requested assistance from the Pakrac Volunteer Fire Department (DVD Pakrac), which quickly joined us with a tanker truck and three firefighters. After extinguishing the fire, we dug through the cargo area and performed overhaul operations. During the operation, one of our members was withdrawn and taken to the Pakrac Emergency Department suffering from exhaustion and heatstroke caused by the extremely high temperatures. We wish him a speedy recovery and thank everyone who responded to the call, as well as the Pakrac Police Station for their assistance with traffic control," the Lipik firefighters reported.
