The solution lies in the private DNS setting, an option available on all devices running Android 9 and newer. Simply go to your phone's settings, find the "Private DNS" menu, and enter dns.adguard.com as the server address. Once the setting is saved, a significant portion of ads in apps, games, and websites will simply disappear.
This filtering method works at the network connection level. It prevents the device from connecting to servers that serve advertising content. The end result for the user is fewer pop-ups, video ads, and other types of ads that disrupt app usage. The difference is especially noticeable in free games, where ads often appear after every action or last for several dozen seconds.
However, this method is not all-powerful. Ads that are deeply integrated into content, such as those within music and video services, may still appear. Such ads are delivered in a way that DNS filtering cannot detect and block.
