Eighth graders who didn't secure a spot in their desired high school during the summer will get another chance in August. Although the final number of those not enrolled or assigned is still pending, the Dubrovnik-Neretva County assures that there are plenty of spots available in other programs.
Current indicators suggest that this involves a smaller group of students whose scores in the summer enrollment period weren't high enough for programs with higher cutoffs. The exact number will be clear once the entire procedure of signing and uploading enrollment forms through the e-Upisi platform is fully completed.
The County emphasizes that enrollment quotas for the upcoming school year were timely adjusted to match the staffing and spatial resources of schools. They add that the total number of approved spots this year exceeds the number of elementary school students finishing their education in the county, meaning all interested students will be able to continue applying in the autumn cycle.
The final list of available spots in the e-Upisi system will be published on August 10, 2026. The application process for educational programs in the autumn enrollment period begins on August 21, 2026, when students can once again choose from the offered programs.
