On the expressway near Zemunik on Saturday, a serious traffic accident occurred when a truck veered off the road and struck a parked car that had broken down. According to information from the Zadar Police Department, the accident happened at exactly 12:08 PM.
Police confirmed that two people received medical assistance. Details about the severity of their injuries are not yet known. Emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after.
A reader of 24sata recounted that her colleague, along with several others, quickly came to help clear the cargo that had ended up on the road.
"The photos were taken by a colleague who, along with some other guys, very quickly came to help pick up the wood from the road. There's a lot of wood, and it's extremely hot outside, so they're struggling and in a hurry. Emergency services also intervened,"the reader reported.
Due to the aftermath of the accident, the DC 424 road is temporarily closed to all traffic. The Zadar Police Department explained that this is due to the ongoing investigation and the operation to lift the truck. At this time, it is not known when traffic will return to normal.
