Six men aged 20 to 60 and three women aged 60, 41, and 20 are suspected of taking part in a mass brawl that occurred on Saturday evening around 6:30 p.m. in front of a volunteer fire department in Karlovac. According to a police report released on Monday, August 17, 2026, three people were seriously injured and four sustained minor injuries.
According to police, a 60-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, and a 60-year-old woman got out of a car with Karlovac license plates, each holding a wooden club. At the same time, individuals aged 62, 21, 40, and 23, along with a 20-year-old woman, approached on foot from their homes, carrying metal and wooden clubs, accompanied by a 41-year-old woman with a shovel.
They then engaged in a mutual fight using their fists, feet, and the aforementioned tools. The 60-year-old man, the 40-year-old man, and the 23-year-old man sustained serious injuries, while the 60-year-old woman, the 20-year-old woman, the 20-year-old man, and the 62-year-old man were slightly injured.
Police handed all participants over to the custody supervisor, except for the seriously injured 40-year-old and 23-year-old men. A criminal complaint has been filed with the State Attorney's Office, police said.
According to unofficial information, the brawl took place in the suburban settlement of Tuškani, but not in front of the volunteer fire department, but at a nearby intersection. Two feuding Roma families were involved, led by brothers. According to reports, one family is from the area, while the other is from the vicinity of Draganić.
It should be noted that the official police version of the location differs from unofficial information: police state it was in front of the volunteer fire department, while unofficial sources mention an intersection in Tuškani.
