Singer Katarina Živković bared her soul on the show "In Therapy with Slavica Đukić Dejanović" and spoke about the toughest moments in her life, when, as she puts it, she hit rock bottom and realized she had to help herself. In an emotional confession, as reported by Kurir.rs, Živković described how for years she sought validation from the wrong people and acceptance from her family, only to eventually face a harsh truth.

Surrounded by Fans, Not Friends

Živković recounted how at one point she realized she was surrounded by people who were not her true friends, but rather told her what she wanted to hear because of her fame. "These were people who, in a way, told me what I wanted to hear, and from whom I sought some validation, because I wasn't confident in myself," the singer said on the show.

She added that this "void" needed to be filled with support, but she chose the wrong people who were destructive to themselves. "Then at some point I would be left completely alone, and I knew how to be alone for a long time," Živković recounted.

A Decade of Seeking Family Acceptance

A particularly emotional part of her confession concerned her relationship with her family. Živković revealed that for ten years she constantly sought acceptance from her immediate and extended family, and that in that process she "constantly humiliated herself." She tried, as she says, to show her failures and bad moments in an attempt to get closer to them and earn their acceptance.

"I was always seeking to be accepted by my family, my extended family, but they-and I just couldn't understand that they simply didn't want to accept me," the singer said. She added that finally, a few years ago, she realized she would never be accepted no matter what she did.

"I experienced great disappointment, and I no longer care who judges me or who supports me; it's just the way it is. I realized I have to live with it and that this is life," Živković concluded.

In the gallery accompanying the article, Kurir.rs also published a photo of Katarina Živković with Nebojša Stojković Stojke, a person mentioned in the context of her confession.
