American footballer Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, spoke publicly for the first time about his wedding to pop star Taylor Swift. The couple, both aged 36, tied the knot during a two-day celebration at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 2 and 3, 2026, according to Channel News Asia.
Kelce shared his impressions of the celebration during a media briefing on August 13, 2026. "I appreciate everyone who came to celebrate and have fun with us," Kelce said. He added that it was "a crazy night full of a lot of celebration" and that's all he takes away from that evening.
Details of the ceremony remained a closely guarded secret. Official photos were not released, and the wedding was confirmed only through a brief statement from Swift's spokesperson and a message on the giant screens of the legendary concert hall. However, it is known that the ceremony was officiated by American comedian and actor Adam Sandler, while the couple's attire was designed by Jonathan Anderson for Christian Dior. Swift wore Christian Louboutin shoes.
Journalist George Stephanopoulos described the event as "so personal and so intimate," despite the enormous size of the venue. Adam Aron, CEO of AMC Theatres, briefly posted on X, then deleted, a message in which he described the couple's vows as "long, fun, personal, charming, emotional, cheeky, and sweet."
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani revealed that the couple donated $160,000 to the city to cover enhanced police and security measures. Thousands of people, including fans and celebrities, gathered nearby, prompting authorities to close several surrounding streets.
