Kerim Alajbegović, until recently a Bayer Leverkusen player, has made his first appearance for Turin's Juventus. He got his debut opportunity in a friendly match against Milan's Inter, played on August 8, 2026, at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia.
Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti sent Alajbegović into the game at the start of the second half. He came on for Kenan Yildiz, wearing the number 17 shirt. At that point, Inter was leading 1-0, with the only goal of the match scored in the 20th minute.
The move that led to Inter's goal was initiated by Ange-Yoan Bonny, who broke down the left flank and set up Federico Dimarco. Dimarco struck first time and beat Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio.
Alajbegović will spend at least 45 minutes on the pitch, giving him solid playing time to showcase his abilities to Spalletti. If he makes a good impression, there is a real chance he could find himself in the starting lineup as early as the next preparatory match.
Indeed, Juventus will face Palermo on Tuesday at the same stadium in Perth, which will be another opportunity for the young player to make his mark.
Alajbegović was not in the squad for Juventus's previous friendly in Hong Kong, where his team celebrated a 1-0 victory over Chelsea. He didn't start today either, with Spalletti sending out the following eleven from the first minute: Di Gregorio, Kalulu, Bremer, Kelly, Cambiaso, Locatelli, Luiz, Zhegrova, McKennie, Yildiz, and David.
On the other side, Inter's coach opted for the lineup: Provedel, Pavard, Bovio, Bastoni, Henrique, Barella, Çalhanoğlu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco, Esposito, and Bonny. The match kicked off at 1 PM local time, and football fans in the region could follow it live on Arena Sport.
