Robert Knjaz, one of Croatia's most recognizable television authors, has been running an exceptionally profitable production company in recent years. His company SIROVINA I SINOVI d.o.o., registered for the production of films, video films, and television programs, generated total revenues of nearly 1.97 million euros in just three years of operation, while accumulated profit exceeded 526 thousand euros.
Knjaz is the sole founder and director of the company, which operates as a micro-enterprise. According to financial reports analyzed by Teleskop.hr, the company records steady growth and increasing profitability.
Profit Growth Despite Revenue Decline
In 2023, the company generated revenues of 585,319 euros with a profit of just over 98 thousand euros. The following year, revenues surged to 754,752 euros, and profit nearly doubled, reaching 190,398 euros.
Although revenues fell to 627,817 euros in 2025, operations became even more profitable. Net profit reached 238,371 euros, an increase of approximately 25 percent compared to the previous year. At the same time, expenses were significantly reduced from 542,772 euros in 2024 to 362,786 euros in 2025.
Minimal Workforce, Maximum Assets
Notably, the company had only one employee in 2025. Despite this, the company's capital grew to 302,742 euros, while total assets reached 774,522 euros. The company has no recorded long-term liabilities, further underscoring its financial stability.
From Cable Television to National Production
Robert Knjaz was born in 1971 in Zagreb. He began his career in the early 1990s at Dugavska Cable Television, where he simultaneously learned to shoot, edit, host, and produce. He later worked at OTV, hosting the show Serbus Zagreb and creating Zaleđe, and then at HTV, where he edited Svlačionica and launched Nogometna televizija.
After specializing in the United States, he moved to RTL, where some of his most famous works were created, including Mjenjačnica, Koledžicom po svijetu, and Najveće hrvatske misterije. Since 2010, he has been actively working with HRT again as a writer, director, and producer, with later works including Hrvatski velikani, I to je Hrvatska, Klasici narodu, and Rekonstrukcija.
Knjaz completed his marketing studies at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb and later earned a master's degree in film and television directing from the Academy of Dramatic Arts. He also taught at VERN, lecturing on innovative television formats.
Unsuccessful Venture into Brewing
Knjaz also tried his hand at entrepreneurship outside the media. He was a member of Holdem Brewery d.o.o., a company founded for beer production and services, through which a craft beer project was developed. He was registered with the company from May 2015 to January 2020, but it was later struck off the court register, and the business venture is no longer operational.
