Konjščina: €600 for Every Newborn and a €100 Gift Package

A ceremonial reception was held for eight of the thirteen babies born by July 1, with the municipal leader emphasizing that every child is the community's greatest wealth.
Thirteen babies born by July 1, 2026, that's how many, according to municipal data, qualified for a one-time financial support of €600 and a commemorative gift package worth €100. The Municipality of Konjščina presented this support on Thursday, August 7, at a ceremonial reception for newborns and their parents. Eight families attended.
The gathering, as stated by the Municipality, took place in a warm and pleasant atmosphere. The gift package, however, wasn't just for the baby, it also included a gift for the mother.
The municipal leader and Member of Parliament, Anita Curiš Krok, addressed the parents, emphasizing that such events are not mere formalities. She described the reception as one of the most beautiful of the year.
- Every newborn child is the greatest wealth of our community. We want young families to know they are not alone and that they have a partner in their municipality who will accompany and support them from the very beginning of parenthood, she said.
She acknowledged, she added, that €600 does not solve all the challenges of parenthood. But she insists on the symbolism: it is a sign of attention and a message that the Municipality cares. Further investments are planned, she announced, in preschool education, schooling, and amenities that should make Konjščina a more desirable place to live.
With this move, Konjščina continues its direct financial support for parenthood, right from the start. At the end of the reception, all parents were once again wished that their children grow up in health, happiness, and safety, surrounded by family love.
