According to Nenad Rašković's testimony, members of the Kosovo Police entered his family home in the village of Dren, in the municipality of Zubin Potok, and after searching the premises, began beating him without any reason. The incident occurred late in the afternoon on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, with details provided in an evening statement by the Serb List.
After beating him inside the house, the officers took Rašković to a nearby forest, tied him to a tree, and continued to brutally strike him with a water hose. According to initial reports, he sustained multiple physical injuries, including broken ribs. During the abuse, they demanded he confess to having committed war crimes against Albanians during the war.
"With the help of friends, he was freed and transported to the Health Center in Zubin Potok, and then to the Clinical Hospital Center in Kosovska Mitrovica, where medical observation and assessment of the extent of his injuries are ongoing," the Serb List statement reads.
Residents of Dren describe Nenad Rašković as an honest and honorable man with no blemish on his record, who has never had any trouble with the law. The Serb List strongly condemned the alleged brutal treatment and demanded an urgent, independent, and thorough investigation into all circumstances of the case, as well as the establishment of accountability for all those involved.
Kosovo Police told N1 they have no information that police officers beat anyone. The case, they said, will be reported to the Kosovo Police Inspectorate. The Serb List has called on representatives of the international community, KFOR, and EULEX to urgently examine all allegations regarding this incident.
"We call on representatives of the international community, KFOR, and EULEX to urgently examine all allegations regarding this incident and take measures within their jurisdiction to establish all facts and ensure the protection of citizens' rights and safety, as there are indications that similar torture and beatings have occurred to other citizens, but they have not reported them out of fear," the statement reads.
The Serb List also provided media with photographs of the injuries, warning that the content is disturbing. After the abuse, Rašković was left tied to a tree, and was rescued by friends who transported him first to the Health Center in Zubin Potok, and then to the Clinical Hospital Center in Kosovska Mitrovica.
