The police in Šibenik have concluded an investigation into a 72-year-old man, suspected of allowing his cows to repeatedly enter another person's agricultural land and cause approximately €2,000 in damages. The incidents occurred in the Gradina area from June 27 to July 22, as reported by the Šibenik-Knin Police Department.
The cows belonging to the 72-year-old broke into the fenced property owned by a 62-year-old man on multiple occasions. During these intrusions, the animals destroyed a significant amount of planted vegetables and fruit, and also damaged the metal fence and plastic sheeting. The total property damage is estimated at around €2,000.
According to official information from the Šibenik-Knin Police Department, the cows frequently entered the fenced plot owned by the 62-year-old during the specified period. In addition to damage to agricultural crops, the property's infrastructure also suffered: the wire fence and protective PVC sheeting were damaged by the cattle's entry.
Criminal complaint filed with the competent prosecutor's office
The police have suspected the 72-year-old of the criminal offense of damaging another's property and, following the completion of the criminal investigation, filed a criminal complaint against him with the competent state attorney's office in Šibenik. The investigation was conducted by the Šibenik Police Station.
The Šibenik-Knin Police Department has not released further details about how the cows gained access to the plot or about any measures taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
