The Krk Fair Lovrečeva, which has been held for centuries, once again confirmed its status as one of the most recognizable events on the island, offering a rich program for all generations.

A Journey Back in Time with Knights and Glagolitic Script

Throughout all three days, visitors could participate in numerous workshops in the morning hours that evoked the spirit of bygone times. Activities included learning about honey extraction, as well as jewelry-making, hairstyling, and archery workshops. In addition, knights roamed the streets, demonstrating their skills and equipment to the curious, making them one of the core motifs of this year's fair.

A special touch was provided by the Historical Association Kaštel, responsible for numerous events, including a thief skit, while the Makovi jesters held interactive games. The participants also incorporated motifs of Glagolitic script, one of the fundamental features of the Krk region, further emphasizing local identity.

Official Opening and Music Program Stars

The Krk Fair was officially opened on Saturday evening, with the Frankopan family in charge of the ceremony. Dressed in traditional noble attire, they evoked the spirit of the Middle Ages and symbolically marked the start of the evening entertainment. Each evening, the program was preceded by a fire show.

On the first night, the audience was entertained by the band Magazin with their new singer Lorena Bućan. The grand finale and closing of the event were handled by Prljavo kazalište and Infinity band, ensuring that the music program satisfied even the most demanding tastes.

A Blend of Tradition and Modern Life

Ivana Kovačić, director of the Krk Tourist Board, emphasized the importance of this event for the entire community. "The Krk Fair Lovrečeva is one of the most important and recognizable events of our town, which for centuries has connected the tradition and history of Krk with the modern life of the town. We are especially pleased to see a large number of visitors on the town's streets and squares again this year, along with a great atmosphere that accompanies the program from morning to evening hours," Kovačić told Novi list.

She added that Lovrečeva is much more than just a fair. "It is an encounter with our heritage, local producers, and customs, but at the same time, it has its modern character, primarily through a diverse music and entertainment program aimed at different generations. It is precisely this blend of tradition and contemporary content that gives it special dynamics and makes it an event that year after year gathers numerous guests, islanders, and residents of the town of Krk," concluded the director.

The town's streets and squares were filled with tourists and locals exploring the diverse offering of jewelry, local products, and handicrafts. It is precisely this growing and diverse offer from local producers that is one of the key reasons this event has successfully endured for generations.
