The sixth sea quality testing cycle of the year in Kvarner has brought excellent news for all those planning a summer vacation in this region. The Teaching Institute of Public Health of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County has published the results of sampling conducted in late July 2026, confirming that the sea at nearly all beaches meets the highest cleanliness standards.

The laboratory analysis covered a total of 275 samples from various locations across Kvarner. Of that number, as many as 268 samples earned an excellent rating, meaning that 97.5 percent of beaches meet the strictest ecological criteria. The remaining seven samples were rated as good quality, while no locations received satisfactory or unsatisfactory ratings.

Where Was the Sea Rated Good Quality?

Although the vast majority of locations received an excellent rating, a few places showed slight deviations. Good sea quality was recorded at the concrete plateau of Kačjak beach in Crikvenica, the 3. maj Recreation Center in Rijeka, and the area in front of the Tiha campsite in Dobrinj on the island of Krk. The same rating was given to Padova coves 1, 2, and 3, as well as the southern part of Gonar cove on the island of Rab.

From Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, they emphasize that such results are not just a matter of prestige but also a key element in positioning the region on the tourist map. "High sea quality, especially in the context of the growing importance of environmental protection, sustainability, and health safety, certainly contributes to Kvarner's competitiveness and its further positioning in the field of sustainable and health tourism," the county's statement reads.

The results of the sixth testing cycle, published on August 11, 2026, are yet another confirmation that Kvarner rightfully holds the title of one of the cleanest and safest sea destinations in Europe, a fact that will surely delight numerous domestic and foreign guests.
