Maja Šuput has decided to put an end to rumors about a new man in her life. After performing in Baška Voda last Friday, a photo of the singer sitting on the lap of a mysterious tattooed young man began circulating on social media and in the press. Speculation about a "new boyfriend" quickly escalated, but Šuput has now clarified who he really is.
"There's no new man in the picture; the caption above the photo clearly said he's a hairstylist. He did my hair for the performance, and of course he was backstage to wait for me and 'take down' my hair after the show," Maja Šuput told Net.hr. She added that he's the one responsible for her hairstyles whenever she performs in that part of Croatia, and that she shared his post purely out of gratitude.
The singer also explained why the hairstylist had to stay close to her all evening. "He's the hairstylist who faithfully made sure my ponytail didn't fall during the performance, considering I jump around at a hundred miles an hour. All hairstylists panic when I perform, so it's easier for them to be right there with me than to watch on Instagram to see if my hair has fallen apart," she said.
Before Maja's denial, a reader of 24sata described the scene from the performance. "During Maja Šuput's performance in Baška Voda, I noticed an interesting detail that caught the attention of many in the crowd. An unknown, very attractive young man stayed by the singer's side all evening, and after the concert he was seen backstage in her company," the witness said.
Although the witness's description and Maja's explanation about the "hairstylist" differ, the singer is confident there's no room for speculation. "Maybe, if we were to follow that logic that he really is a new boyfriend, I wouldn't have shared his post. I don't have time to deal with denials, but the problem is that many people only read headlines," she said.
At the end of May 2026, Maja confirmed her split from "Mr. Perfect" Šime Elez, with whom she had been in a relationship for about a year. Elez recently commented on their relationship for Story: "We're not in contact, but we're not on bad terms either. There's mutual respect, a 'good luck' with everything that lies ahead, and a fond memory of everything we went through together. We're both mature enough to part ways without bitterness."
Recall that before her relationship with Elez, the singer divorced Nenad Tatarinov, with whom she has a son named Bloom.
