Police recorded three traffic accidents on Monday in the Vukovar-Srijem Police Department area, while fixed speed cameras captured 22 speeding violations.
In Bošnjaci, on Monday, August 17, 2026, at around 7:50 PM, a minor operating a personal transport vehicle struck a pedestrian, a child, due to inappropriate speed, resulting in minor injuries. The information was confirmed by the Vukovar-Srijem Police Department and reported by Orion Info Vinkovci and Vinkulja Vinkovci.
On the same day, a total of three traffic accidents were recorded in the area covered by this police department. Two occurred with material damage only in Vinkovci and Vukovar, while the accident in Bošnjaci was the only one involving injuries.
Fixed speed cameras recorded 22 speeding violations on the same day, further highlighting the issue of non-compliance with traffic regulations in the area.
Alongside the accident report, the police reiterated key rules for drivers of personal transport vehicles and bicycles. A personal transport vehicle may be operated by a person who has reached the age of 14, and while riding, they must wear a properly fastened protective helmet. The same rule applies to drivers and passengers on bicycles up to 16 years of age.
Drivers are required to be marked with a reflective vest, reflective clothing, or another reflective marker at night or in reduced visibility. Additionally, they must use bicycle paths or lanes; if these are not available, drivers of personal transport vehicles may use pedestrian areas and calm traffic zones, taking care of the safety of other road users.
When two or more drivers are traveling in a group, they must ride one behind the other, and before crossing a roadway where no bicycle path is marked, they must dismount and walk their vehicle as pedestrians.
