Luka Modrić and Edin Džeko, renowned footballers, have decided to pool their resources off the pitch as well. The captains of the Croatian and Bosnian national teams are entering one of the largest tourism projects in this part of Europe, the construction of the luxury resort "Tri sestrice" at the very entrance to the Pelješac peninsula, as reported by JUGInfo.
The value of this monumental undertaking is estimated at nearly one billion euros, and the project is already being dubbed the "new city on the Adriatic" by the public. The concept was conceived by Vicenco Blagaić from Split, who has been working on this project for nearly two decades, and the involvement of the two famous athletes brings global recognition.
Under the official name "Dubrovnik, Tri sestrice, Croatian Dream," the complex will span an impressive 260 hectares of land. Plans include the construction of a fully self-contained luxury settlement that would operate year-round.
The complex will feature seven top-tier hotels with a total of 400 rooms, 500 modern apartments, and 220 high-end villas. A marina for large yachts with 400 berths and a 27-hole golf course covering more than 200 hectares are also planned. Additionally, a variety of amenities are envisioned, such as restaurants, shops, beach clubs, museums, and galleries.
According to sources, Edin Džeko has already visited the site on Pelješac with the investors, and Luka Modrić has reportedly already purchased a plot of land in the future settlement.
For Luka Modrić, this is just a continuation of smart investments. The Croatian national team captain has been building a serious business portfolio for years, particularly in luxury real estate in Spain and Croatia.
In Madrid, he owns a family home in the prestigious La Moraleja neighborhood, valued at around 12 million euros. Through his company, he has invested an additional six million euros in three apartments near Real's training center, and more than ten million euros in land in the upscale El Viso area. In Croatia, he owns a penthouse in central Zagreb, a villa on Pantovčak, and a luxury seaside home in Kožino near Zadar. In addition to real estate, Modrić recently invested in the Zeppelin craft brewery in Bjelovar, demonstrating his interest in other dynamic industries.
