The tourism company records double-digit growth in revenue and overnight stays, with CEO Massimo Piutti highlighting the importance of quality and workforce challenges.
Tourism company Mon Perin generated total revenue of €5.2 million in the first six months of 2026, a 16 percent increase compared to the same period last year, or an increase of €837,000. After last year's loss of approximately €50,000, the first half ended with a net profit of €616,000.
Operating revenue rose by 18 percent to €5.26 million, while EBITDA jumped 40 percent, from €1.44 million to just over €2 million. Massimo Piutti, CEO of Mon Perin, commented on the figures for Poslovni dnevnik.
At Camp Mon Perin, accommodation revenue reached €4.44 million, an 11 percent increase year-on-year, with a total of 106,697 overnight stays and modest physical traffic growth of 2 percent. "We are particularly pleased that revenue is growing faster than physical traffic, confirming that the market recognizes the quality of our product and that we are succeeding in generating higher added value per guest," Piutti stated.
Regarding guest structure, individual guests contributed €3.78 million in revenue (an 11 percent increase) with 3 percent more overnight stays. Revenue from mobile homes rose 12 percent to €2.76 million, while pitch revenue jumped 10 percent to €1.02 million.
In the second quarter of 2026, Mon Perin recorded €4.61 million in operating revenue, an increase of approximately 18 percent compared to €3.91 million in the same period last year. Total quarterly revenue reached €5.3 million, with profit hitting €2.18 million.
Piutti explained that the quarter's dynamics were influenced by the earlier start of school holidays in the key German market: "Due to their earlier start, we achieved excellent occupancy and very good results during May, while June, as expected, was somewhat weaker compared to last year."
During the first half, investments worth approximately €3.6 million were completed. Notable projects include a new zone of higher-category mobile homes with sea views and private jacuzzis, reconstruction of the sanitary block in San Polo, a new children's playground, and a retail area with additional amenities and parking.
Piutti emphasizes that it is still too early to assess the season definitively. "The August result will be significantly influenced by the dynamics of last-minute bookings, as well as the number of potential cancellations, which has become a common feature of the tourism market in recent years," he said.
Nevertheless, the company expects the positive trend to continue, especially in the post-season. "Our long-term goal is not just to achieve good results in July and August, but to continuously extend the tourist season and increase its sustainability through the development of quality content," Piutti concluded.
Reflecting on challenges, the CEO of Mon Perin particularly highlighted the issue of finding qualified staff. "Today, it is no longer enough to secure a sufficient number of employees; it is increasingly difficult to find skilled workers who can meet the growing expectations of guests," he warned.
He added that the ability to attract and retain quality employees will be one of the biggest challenges, but also competitive advantages, for Croatian tourism in the coming years. At the same time, he views the continuous growth in the number of domestic guests in recent years positively.
