Most party president Nikola Grmoja and party presidency member Mihovil Klarić on Monday in Šibenik demanded the revocation of the building permit for the construction of the Dazlina wind farm. As the main reason, they cite a series of deficiencies in the process, particularly highlighting the suspicious timing of the permit issuance coinciding with the closure of the public consultation on the proposed spatial plan of the Šibenik-Knin County.

Public Consultation Just a Show for the Public?

Mihovil Klarić reminded that during the public consultation, which closed on July 23, 2026, citizens submitted their proposals and objections. However, on the same day, the building permit for the Dazlina wind farm was issued, which for Most members is a clear sign that the dialogue with the community was not sincere.

"According to it, the construction of new wind and solar power plants is planned in the county. At this very spot, we have already discussed the potential Dazlina wind farm and its impact on the local population, and the new spatial plan precisely at this location provides for the construction of a wind farm," Klarić stated for HRT.

"However, on that same day, the building permit for the construction of the Dazlina wind farm was issued. We can rightly ask whether that public consultation was just a show for the public. We demand the revocation of the building permit due to a series of deficiencies."

He also announced that a 14-page lawsuit seeking revocation has already been drafted.

Grmoja: Who Stands Behind the Project?

Most party president Nikola Grmoja went a step further, openly questioning the motives and background of the entire project. "I would ask whether HDZ donors stand behind this project, because we do not want to allow those who exclusively look after their private or party interests to trade Croatian territory in this way," Grmoja said.

He also focused on the economic calculation for the local community. He emphasized that for every kilowatt of produced electricity, the local community retains only one lipa. "Is this worth such trading of the most valuable resource we have?" he asked.

Foreign Investors and Protected Birds

Grmoja also highlighted the broader issue of the financing model for renewable energy sources. "Likewise, wind farm investors recoup their initial investment within five years, and all of us pay a fee for renewable energy sources through our bills. I would have nothing against us as a community setting aside something from which everyone will benefit, but wind farms are a foreign product, investors are mostly foreigners, and most of the money goes abroad," he claimed.

Most members express particular concern about the location of the planned construction. The Dazlina wind farm area is located within the Natura 2000 ecological network, specifically in a special protection area for birds. Among the species inhabiting the area are the European roller, the pygmy cormorant, and the golden eagle. Therefore, they demand that competent institutions conduct an independent environmental impact study.
