The Duga Resa Police Station has concluded its criminal investigation into a 48-year-old man, who is accused of forcibly entering the home of an 83-year-old woman and assaulting her on the evening of August 11, 2026, according to a report from the Karlovac police. In accordance with the prescribed deadline, the suspect was handed over to the custody supervisor of the Karlovac Police Department.
According to police information, the 48-year-old, under the influence of narcotics, used physical force to break into the home of the 83-year-old woman in the city of Duga Resa. After breaking into the house, he violently attacked the elderly woman, who is particularly vulnerable due to her age. In the incident, the 83-year-old sustained minor physical injuries. The police identified the woman as a particularly vulnerable person precisely because of her age.
The police suspect the 48-year-old of the criminal offense of violating the inviolability of a home and business premises, as well as the criminal offense of grievous bodily harm. A criminal complaint has been filed against him with the competent state attorney's office, and the suspect has been handed over to the custody supervisor. As reported by the Karlovac Police Department, the criminal investigation established that the suspect was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident, and after entering the elderly woman's home, he physically attacked her.
