The Zagreb Police Department will begin a preventive-repressive speed control campaign in the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County on Monday, August 3, 2026. The main goal of the activities is to detect drivers exceeding the speed limit, enhance road safety, prevent traffic violations, and reduce the number of accidents. The campaign is being conducted simultaneously in several European Union countries.
Although police officers will monitor traffic throughout the week, one time slot has been singled out. Intensified checks are announced for Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 3 PM to 11 PM. Special focus will be on drivers prone to repeating serious traffic offenses, i.e., repeat offenders.
