The Argentine international and 2022 World Cup winner has signed for the Giallorossi, where he will take over as the right-back under Gian Piero Gasperini.
Roma officially confirmed the arrival of Nahuel Molina, the 28-year-old Argentine international, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. The right-back thus returns to Italian football after four seasons with Atletico Madrid, where he had already made a strong impression playing for Udinese.
Molina wore the Udinese shirt from 2020 to 2022, during which time he caught the attention of Europe's top clubs. Although sources differ on the exact figures, according to Net.hr, he scored nine goals in 64 Serie A appearances for the Friulian club, while Gazzetta dello Sport reports 10 goals in 68 league matches.
Following his impressive displays in Italy, he secured a move to Atletico Madrid. In the Spanish club's colors, he played 119 league matches and scored eight goals, often netting spectacular strikes. Last season, he made 26 appearances and scored two goals.
Molina is a regular member of the Argentine national team, for which he has earned 65 caps. With the 'Gauchos', he won the World Cup in 2022, and this year he again played in the World Cup final, where Argentina was defeated by Spain. In addition, he has two Copa America titles to his name.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, coach Gian Piero Gasperini sees Molina as the ideal player for his 3-4-2-1 system. The Argentine's arrival will also bring certain changes to the squad, Celik will lose his place in the starting lineup, and Wesley will move to the left side. In Rome, Molina will join a sizable Argentine contingent comprising Dybala, Soulé, and Castro.
His offensive statistics are impressive for a full-back. Throughout his career, he has accumulated 24 assists across Serie A and La Liga combined. In his first season at Udinese, he made 29 appearances, scoring two goals and providing five assists, while in his second, he scored seven goals and added five key passes in 35 matches.
For fantacalcio enthusiasts, Molina is valued at 29 credits. Gazzetta dello Sport recommends investing up to six percent of your budget in auctions, highlighting that he is a defender who regularly delivers bonuses in the form of goals and assists.
Roma finished third in Serie A last season, securing a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming campaign, and Molina's arrival is expected to further bolster the club's ambitions.
