On the night of September 7, 1996, Tupac attended a Mike Tyson boxing match in Las Vegas. After the fight, a physical altercation broke out between Tupac's entourage and a member of the Crips gang. Several hours later, as a black BMW driven by Marion stopped at a red light near the Las Vegas Strip, 13 shots were fired from a Cadillac.
Tupac, who was in the passenger seat, was hit in the hand, pelvis, and chest. Suge Knight, who was in the car with him, sustained minor injuries. Doctors fought for his life for six days, but the rapper succumbed to his injuries on September 13, 1996, at just 25 years old. His girlfriend Kidada Jones and his mother Afeni Shakur were by his side in his final moments.
The trial is expected to last about a month. The case has haunted fans worldwide for decades and remains one of the biggest unsolved mysteries in the American music industry.
