Summary
  • A traffic accident near Selci Đakovački closed DC7, with vehicles being diverted through Đakovo.
  • On A3, traffic is limited to 80 km/h due to an object on the road, and there are queues on DC1 near Otrić.
  • Roadworks on A2 and A3 will last until September and October 2026, with narrowed lanes and possible congestion.
  • For Thursday, increased traffic, wet roads, and border crossing delays are expected.

State road DC7 was closed on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, following a traffic accident near the village of Selci Đakovački. Vehicles have been diverted to a detour route passing through Đakovo itself, the Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) confirmed in its regular report.

Object on A3 and Roadworks on DC1

On the same day, HAK also recorded an object on the carriageway of the A3 motorway between Bregana and Lipovac. The location is at 88+000 km between the Križ and Popovača interchanges in the direction of Lipovac. Traffic on this section is currently limited to 80 km/h, and the club urges drivers to exercise extra caution.

On state road DC1 between Gračac and Knin, queues are forming in the roadworks area near Otrić. Drivers using this route should expect slower traffic and occasional stops.

Lane Closures on A2 and A3

On the A2 motorway between Zagreb and Macelj, traffic is running on a single lane in two sections. In the direction of Macelj, this is the Krapina, Đurmanec section (from 17+500 to 13+750 km), and in the direction of Zagreb, the Trakošćan, Đurmanec section (from 6+700 to 8+200 km).

On the A3 Bregana-Lipovac, drainage repair works are underway between the Popovača and Kutina interchanges, from 90+700 to 93+800 km. The works will last until September 1, 2026, with traffic running on two narrowed lanes. HAK warns that delays and queues are possible, especially on Fridays when traffic density is higher.

Until October 3, 2026, works are also ongoing between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad interchanges (from 12+480 to 15+300 km). The carriageway in the direction of Lipovac is closed, so traffic is running in both directions on the carriageway towards Bregana, with two narrowed lanes in each direction. Delays are likely during morning and afternoon peak hours, as well as throughout the day on weekends.

Thursday Forecast: Heavy Traffic and Slippery Roads

For Thursday, August 20, 2026, HAK forecasts increased traffic on city roads and bypasses, as well as on certain motorway sections, especially during morning and afternoon peak hours. In the northern Adriatic and Gorski Kotar, roads will be wet and slippery in places.

Possible congestion is expected on the Zagreb (A3) and Rijeka (A7) bypasses, on the A4 motorway between the Popovec and Zagreb istok interchanges, on the Istrian Y (A8) between the Učka interchange and tunnel, on certain sections of DC1, and on the Adriatic Highway (DC8) on approaches to tourist destinations.

Border Crossing Delays

In passenger and freight traffic, delays are expected at certain border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro. No difficulties are announced in maritime traffic.
