The Croatian Automobile Club warns drivers of a traffic accident on the A1 motorway towards Dubrovnik and delays on the A2 and A3, with roadworks on certain sections lasting until October.
The Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) reported on Wednesday morning a traffic accident on the A1 Zagreb-Split-Ploče motorway between the Jastrebarsko and Karlovac interchanges, at kilometer 26+000, in the direction of Dubrovnik. Traffic in that section is moving in two lanes with a speed limit of 80 km/h, and drivers are urged to adjust their speed and driving style to the road conditions.
A queue and delay were recorded before the Zagreb zapad interchange on the A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway in the direction of Zagreb. On the same motorway, traffic is restricted to the driving lane on the Krapina, Đurmanec section, from kilometer 17+500 to 13+750 towards Macelj, and on the Trakošćan, Đurmanec section, from kilometer 6+700 to 8+200 towards Zagreb.
On the A3 motorway between Bregana and Lipovac, in the roadworks area between the Sveta Nedelja and Lučko exits, drivers may encounter occasional delays in both directions. On the A4 motorway from Goričan to Zagreb, between the Popovec and Zagreb istok exits, traffic is moving slower towards the capital.
Due to drainage rehabilitation on the Popovača, Kutina section towards Lipovac, from kilometer 90+700 to 93+800, traffic is moving in two narrowed lanes, with works lasting until September 1. Due to heavy traffic, especially on Fridays, there is a possibility of congestion and long queues.
Until October 3, roadworks are ongoing between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad interchanges, from kilometer 12+480 to 15+300, where the carriageway towards Lipovac is closed. Traffic is moving in both directions using the carriageway leading towards Bregana, with two narrowed lanes for each direction. Congestion and queues are most likely during morning and afternoon hours, as well as throughout the weekend.
For Thursday, August 20, HAK forecasts increased traffic on city roads and bypasses, as well as on certain motorway sections, especially during morning and afternoon hours. In the northern Adriatic and Gorski Kotar, roads will be wet and slippery in places.
Delays are possible on the bypasses around Zagreb (A3) and Rijeka (A7), on the A4 motorway between the Popovec and Zagreb istok exits, on the Istrian Y (A8) between the Učka tunnel and interchange, on some sections of state road DC1, and on the Adriatic Highway (DC8) on approaches to tourist destinations. At certain border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro, there will be waiting times for passenger and freight vehicles, while no problems are expected in maritime traffic.
