Drivers on Croatian roads face a series of difficulties on Thursday, August 13, 2026. According to data from the Croatian Automobile Club (HAK), a traffic accident occurred in Kaštel Kambelovac on the Adriatic Highway (DC8), so traffic is passing through with temporary regulation. Similar situations are being recorded on other major roads.
An additional accident was recorded on the A7 Rupa-Križišće motorway, at km 27+000 between the Škurinje and Orehovica interchanges in the direction of Križišće. This section is currently operating with one lane, and the speed limit is 40 km/h.
On the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway, due to drainage rehabilitation on the section between the Popovača and Kutina interchanges (from km 90+700 to 93+800), traffic in the direction of Lipovac is moving along two narrowed lanes. HAK warns that with increased traffic density, delays and traffic jams are possible, especially on Fridays. Roadworks on this section last until September 1.
Until October 3, roadworks also continue on the A3 between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad interchanges (from km 12+480 to 15+300). There, the carriageway in the direction of Lipovac is closed, and traffic is moving in both directions along two narrowed lanes in both directions. Traffic jams are possible especially in the morning and afternoon hours, as well as throughout the day on weekends.
On the A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway, traffic is only using the driving lane on sections from km 17+500 to 13+750 in the direction of Macelj (Krapina, Đurmanec) and from km 6+700 to 8+200 in the direction of Zagreb (Trakošćan, Đurmanec).
On the A4 Goričan-Zagreb, due to roadworks on the Zagreb istok-Popovec section (between km 95 and 91+800), in the direction of Goričan, traffic is moving in both directions along two narrowed lanes, with a speed limit of 80 km/h. Roadworks last until August 30.
Due to strong winds on the Adriatic Highway between Novi Vinodolski and Sveta Marija Magdalena, a traffic ban is in effect for vehicles of the first group, which includes motorcycles, vehicles with trailers, and double-decker buses.
The summer traffic ban for heavy goods vehicles with a maximum permissible mass exceeding 7.5 tons on certain state roads in Istria and the coastal area lasts until September 15. The ban applies on Saturdays from 04:00 to 14:00 and on Sundays from 12:00 to 23:00.
Exceptional transports are also underway: until September 5, transport is taking place from the ČCNP Karamatići (A1) to the Bisko interchange (A1) from 22:00 to 05:00. Also, from August 11 to 13, an exceptional transport of 98 meters in length passes along the route from the Bregana border crossing (A3) to the Goričan border crossing (A4) from 00:01 to 05:00, with brief traffic stops of up to 15 minutes per stop.
