Series of Fires Across Dalmatia in 24 Hours

The past 24 hours have been extremely challenging for firefighting forces in Dalmatia. In the Split-Dalmatia County area, several fires were recorded that required rapid interventions, ranging from burning cars and forest to a substation and neglected vineyards.
The morning in Seget Donji started dramatically. At 8:37 AM, a fire broke out on parked cars in the Medena area. The flames spread rapidly, completely destroying three vehicles and partially damaging a fourth. The fire also engulfed the surrounding forest, consuming about 100 square meters of pine area. Members of the Seget Vranjica Volunteer Fire Department and the Trogir Public Fire Brigade quickly arrived on the scene and prevented the fire from spreading further.
A new challenge came at 1:35 PM when a fire broke out in an open area in Crivac near Muć. Firefighters from the Muć and Ružić Volunteer Fire Departments immediately began extinguishing operations. Thanks to their efforts, the fire was contained by 3:00 PM and fully extinguished three hours later, at 6:00 PM. The fire burned about one hectare of grass and low vegetation.
Almost simultaneously with the fire in Muć, at 2:00 PM, a report was received about a fire in Vinjani near Imotski. There, a distribution cabinet inside a substation caught fire, and the Imotski Public Fire Brigade intervened. Shortly after, at 4:45 PM, a fire broke out in Košute. The fire affected low vegetation and two neglected vineyards, burning about one hectare. Firefighters from the Trilj Volunteer Fire Department responded to extinguish it.
In addition to these incidents, firefighters also successfully extinguished fires in Prgomet and Lećevica during the previous day, August 9. On the other hand, the situation in the area of Gornji Humac and Košer still requires caution, and the fire at that location is being actively monitored to prevent it from flaring up again.
