Although the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) has yet to officially unveil the new kit, the jerseys the Vatreni will wear have already gone on sale on the other side of the world. Specialized portal Footy Headlines reported on August 2, 2026, that the latest Adidas kits had prematurely hit the shelves of the Alpen store in Tokyo, Japan's capital.
Photos taken by a customer in the store quickly spread across social media and through the fan community Jerseyforum, giving fans a full look at the kit before HNS had planned its official presentation.
This unexpected event came shortly after the multi-year partnership between HNS and German sports giant Adidas officially began on August 1, 2026. A day earlier, on July 31, 2026, the 26-year contract with previous kit supplier Nike came to an end.
Adidas and HNS kicked off their new era with a marketing campaign titled "Checkers Meet Stripes," which blends Croatia's iconic red-and-white checkered pattern with Adidas's iconic three stripes. The official unveiling of the full collection is scheduled for September 2026, ahead of the start of the new Nations League cycle, when pre-orders will also begin shipping.
The home kit for the 2026/27 season stays true to tradition with its red-and-white checks but introduces several subtle novelties. Within the checks themselves, discreet motifs inspired by the historic Glagolitic script are embossed, while the Adidas Performance logo is rendered in blue. The collar and sleeve cuffs are adorned with details in the colors of the Croatian tricolor, giving the jersey an extra touch of national identity.
The away kit takes a bolder visual turn. The jersey is crafted in EQT blue with red-orange accents and the recognizable Adidas lines along the shoulders. The centerpiece is dominated by a striking pattern inspired by traditional Pag lace, while the retro Adidas Trefoil logo sits on the chest.
The Croatian national team is expected to first officially take to the pitch in this new kit during the September Nations League matches. Although the design has already been revealed, we will have to wait a bit longer for the formal presentation by HNS. The new kit could potentially accompany the Vatreni at the 2028 European Championship as well.
