The Neretva Lađa Association presented on Saturday, August 8, 2026, the new official jerseys for the organizers and judges of the Lađa Marathon. This seemingly simple visual change carries a powerful message about preserving heritage and pride in the Neretva Valley, turning a piece of sports equipment into a wearable symbol of identity.
Every element on the new jerseys has been meticulously designed to tell the story of the Neretva region. The visual identity integrates motifs of the rich local heritage, with the recognizable silhouette of the traditional lađa taking center stage. A special feature of the jerseys is the inclusion of the legendary 22.5-kilometer race route, which uniquely connects the towns of Metković, Opuzen, and Ploče.
What is particularly pleasing is the fact that the entire project was carried out exclusively with domestic resources. From the initial idea to the finished product, the jerseys proudly bear the '100% Made in Croatia' label. This approach not only resulted in a visually and functionally impressive product but also represents a significant boost to the domestic economy and local talent.
The realization of this project is the result of successful collaboration among several domestic partners. Sponsorship and high-quality production of the jerseys are credited to the company Alpas Hrvatska. The unique visual identity, which turned the jerseys into a true work of art, is the work of the visual identity agency Threeca Agency and designer Lana Oršulić. Their work represents a blend of modern aesthetics and classic values.
The Lađa Marathon has long outgrown the bounds of a mere sporting competition. It is an event that symbolizes the heart of the Neretva Valley and the strength of the community. Seeing organizers and judges in jerseys that celebrate heritage with such measure and taste evokes a sense of genuine pride and connection to one's roots.
