The company Ceste Rijeka d.o.o. was in charge of the construction work, with approximately 30 workers involved, using 20 different types of machinery. During the works, around 900 tons of asphalt were used, and approximately 9,500 square meters of surface area were renovated. The total value of the project is estimated at around €250,000.
From the company Rijeka plus, they emphasized that the new traffic infrastructure is the result of significant engagement, stating: "During the construction works, approximately 900 tons of asphalt were used, while around 9,500 square meters of surface area were renovated. The value of the investment amounts to approximately €250,000. The new intersection will be further enhanced with horticultural landscaping of the roundabout and the traffic island, which will enrich the space and improve its visual appeal."
Renovation of the Eastern Traffic Route Completed
The new roundabout also marks the completion of the renovation of the circular traffic route in the eastern part of the city, connecting Mihanovićeva Street, Martina Kontuša Street, Kvaternikova Street, and Brdo Street. As part of the works, old curbstones were replaced, part of the pedestrian path was renovated, and new horizontal traffic signage was installed.
The new intersection will be further beautified with horticultural landscaping of the roundabout and the traffic island, adding aesthetic value and visually improving the area. A section of the roadway at the junction with Kumičićeva Street will be asphalted later, after the works within the Aglomeration project are completed.
From Rijeka plus, they thanked all road users for their patience and understanding during the construction works.
As stated in the announcement carried by Fiuman.hr, the completion of the works has created better traffic conditions, with increased safety for all participants. From Rijeka plus, they said: "We thank all road users for their patience and understanding during the construction works."
