Two drivers refused preliminary testing for the presence of drugs in their system, while the third was stopped without a protective helmet and before passing the driving test.

Refusal of Drug Tests on Two Zadar Streets

According to a report from Zadarski list, the first case was recorded on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 9:50 PM in Knez Novak Krbavski Street. In Zadar, traffic police stopped a 24-year-old man, a Croatian citizen, driving a vehicle with Zadar license plates. When offered a preliminary drug test, the driver refused to cooperate.

The second case occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 2:40 AM in Rampada Street. There, a car with Zadar license plates was stopped, driven by a 45-year-old Croatian citizen. He also refused the offered preliminary drug test.

Both drivers were issued Misdemeanor Orders in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Safety Act. The fine for each is 1,320.00 euros, and they were also given a protective measure banning them from driving motor vehicles of B category for a period of 3 months.

Motorcyclist Without Helmet and License in Kukljica

On the same evening, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 11:20 PM, police officers from the Zadar Maritime and Airport Police Station stopped a motorcycle with Zadar license plates in Kukljica. The motorcycle was ridden by a 19-year-old, also a Croatian citizen, who was not wearing a protective helmet.

A check revealed that he was riding the motorcycle even though he had not passed the driving test. The young man was removed from traffic and fined 1,450.00 euros, along with a one-month ban on driving motor vehicles, as announced by the Zadar Police Department.
