The eighth edition of the Ljeto u mreži (Summer in the Network) program, organized by Kino mreža, arrives at Koprivnica's Velebit Cinema with two beloved children's titles. On Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 4:00 PM, kids can watch the Pixar classic Monsters, Inc., while the following day, Friday, August 21, 2026, at the same time, the family adventure Dolphin Boy 2 will be screened. Admission is free, and tickets can be picked up online a few days before the screening or at the cinema box office.
Monsters, Inc. from 2001 is one of the most popular animated films of the last three decades. It is the fourth feature-length animated film from Pixar Studios, directed by Pete Docter, Lee Unkrich, and David Silverman. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards and won the award for Best Original Song, "If I Didn't Have You."
The story follows a world of monsters and the company Monsters, Inc., which produces energy by scaring children. The top "scarer" is Sulley, with the help of his friend Mike. Chaos ensues when a little girl named Boo accidentally enters their world, as monsters believe children are dangerous. The combination of a creative universe, humorous elements, and a touching ending makes this film, even a quarter of a century after its premiere, one of Pixar's finest works.
Dolphin Boy 2 is an animated family adventure film directed by Mohammad Kheirandish. Young Dolphin Boy and his navigator friend, in their fight against sea monsters, try to preserve the memory of sea heroes. However, their adventure takes a turn when Majid comes across a message inside a floating bottle that reveals the location of a mysterious drink.
After setting sail on the navigator's ship, they encounter a wild whale and send out a distress call. Dolphin Boy and his companions embark on a dangerous rescue mission to save Majid from the clutches of the wild whale. Meanwhile, it is discovered that near Majid's location, traces belonging to Dolphin Boy's father have been found. Driven by the desire to locate his parents' traces and learn his human name, Dolphin Boy begins the greatest adventure of his life.
This year's edition of Ljeto u mreži takes place in as many as 47 independent cinemas across the country, featuring three films: the domestic animated hit Čudesna šuma (Wonderful Forest), Pixar's Monsters, Inc., and the family title Dolphin Boy 2. All three films are dubbed in Croatian, ensuring the youngest audiences have a fully immersive experience without language barriers.
