Due to low water levels in reservoirs, residents supplied from the Šrajbeki and Vojnovec springs are urged to use water only for essential needs.
All residents using water from the Šrajbeki and Vojnovec springs have been notified by the Mače Municipality about reduced water supplies and are urged to minimize consumption. The notice was issued on August 17, 2026, and is reported by Zagorje International.
The Mače Municipality stated that due to an extremely unfavorable hydrological situation, water levels in the reservoirs are currently very low. "We ask all users to immediately limit water consumption and use it only for essential needs. We particularly appeal that water not be used for watering gardens and lawns, washing vehicles, filling pools, or other unnecessary purposes," the statement reads.
Along with the appeal for conservation, the Municipality emphasized the seriousness of the situation: "The situation is serious, and only through responsible behavior by all users can we ensure that existing water supplies are sufficient for essential needs. We ask for your understanding, responsibility, and solidarity."
Residents are asked to immediately notify the Municipality or the person in charge of the water supply if they notice a malfunction or unusually high water consumption. A specific date until which restrictions might last has not been provided.
