While many local producers are struggling to sell their sweet corn these days, one family from Turnašica has taken a radical step. On August 6, 2026, OPG Povrće Nemet announced that it would give away its entire harvest for free to anyone who wants it, simply because there are no buyers.
- This year we have a nice crop of sweet corn, but unfortunately there are no buyers and demand is very low. Instead of letting it go to waste, we decided to give it away to anyone who wants it for their household, the farm said on social media. The family is inviting all interested parties to visit Turnašica and pick as much as they need for personal use.
Feel free to come, we are giving it away sincerely. Our goal is for the corn to reach your table, freezer, or pot, not to remain unused.
