The Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) reported on Monday, August 10, 2026, an object on the roadway of the A6 motorway between the Sopač and Sleme tunnels in the direction of Rijeka. Traffic on this section is moving at a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour, and drivers are advised to exercise extra caution.
Object on the Road and Temporary Stops
In addition to the aforementioned warning, temporary traffic stops are in effect on the A6 until August 12 due to exceptional transport. Between 01:00 and 04:00, on the stretch from the Traffic Control and Monitoring Center (CCNP) Rijeka to the Kikovica junction, traffic will be briefly halted in both directions. Stops will last no more than 15 minutes and will be carried out in three overnight periods, without rerouting to alternative routes.
Other Restrictions on Motorways
On the A1 Zagreb-Split-Dubrovnik motorway, similar temporary stops are in effect until August 12 from 01:00 to 05:00. The stops apply to the toll plaza and Karlovac junction areas, as well as the Demerje, Lučko, and Zagreb zapad junctions, all due to exceptional transports joining the main route.
On the A3 Bregana-Lipovac, the Kraljeva Velika north and south rest areas are closed until August 31. Due to drainage rehabilitation, traffic is running on narrowed lanes between the Popovača and Kutina junctions towards Lipovac until September 1, where delays are possible, especially on Fridays. Roadworks between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad junctions, where traffic is moving in both directions on one carriageway, last until October 3.
On the A4 Goričan-Zagreb, roadworks on the Zagreb istok-Popovec section last until August 30. In the direction of Goričan, traffic uses one lane with a speed limit of 80 km/h, while all ramps at the Zagreb istok and Sesvete junctions are fully operational.
Bans and Closed State Roads
Numerous restrictions are in effect on state roads. Due to damage to the bridge over the Dobra River, on DC42 in Hreljin Ogulinski, traffic is banned for vehicles over 15 tons until December 31. Until the same date, a ban is also in effect for vehicles over 7.5 tons on the Erdut II bridge (DC213) and the bridge in Pribanjci (DC204).
Fully closed sections include: DC29 Kašina-Laz Bistrički until August 12, DC34 Donji Miholjac-Sveti Đurađ until September 1, and DC38 in Požega due to reconstruction of the Veličanka bridge until December 15. Due to poor road and bridge condition, traffic is banned for all vehicles on DC14 between Poznanovec and Dubovec until January 31, 2027.
The summer ban for trucks over 7.5 tons on certain roads in Istria and the coastal area is in effect until September 15, on Saturdays from 04:00 to 14:00 and Sundays from 12:00 to 23:00.
Exceptional Transport and Bridge Testing
Over two nights, from August 11 to 13, between 00:01 and 05:00, two recurring exceptional transports, 98 meters long, will travel from the Bregana border crossing (A3) to the Goričan border crossing (A4). As a result, short traffic stops, lasting no more than 15 minutes, will be carried out in the zones of CCNP Bregana, Sveta Helena, and Goričan.
Drivers on the islands of Cres and Lošinj can also expect testing of the Privlaka bridge on state road DC100, which will take place on August 11 from 1:00 to 3:00.
