The County State Attorney's Office in Rijeka has filed an indictment against two Croatian citizens, aged 19 and 20, charging them with two robberies committed in stores in the Rijeka area. The identities of the accused have not been publicly disclosed, only their ages, as announced by the County State Attorney's Office.
The first defendant, a 19-year-old, is charged with entering a Rijeka store on October 11, 2025, wearing a mask, and demanding money from a female employee while threatening her with a plastic gun. Fearing for her life, she handed over 364 euros, after which the young man fled the scene.
According to the indictment, both defendants entered another store in the Rijeka area on August 12, 2025, together and by prior agreement. The first defendant then sprayed a male employee with an irritant spray, specifically pepper spray, after which the second defendant demanded money. The employee, also fearing for his life, handed over 421.29 euros. Sources differ slightly in the precision of the stated amount, with some mentioning a rounded figure of around 421 euros.
For the first robbery, the perpetrator faces a prison sentence of one to ten years, while for the second heist, both face a sentence of three to twelve years in prison. In practice, the court panel may impose a lighter sentence, including a suspended sentence, provided it is in accordance with the law.
