On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Osijek will once again host the "Run for Mental Health" race. The fifth, anniversary edition of this sports and social event will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, starting at 5 PM at Osijek's Kopika, near the eastern entrance.

The organizers emphasize that over the years, this race has grown into the largest 5-kilometer race in Croatia, and for the anniversary edition, they expect more than 700 runners from Osijek-Baranja County and other parts of the country.

A Longer Course for Those Seeking a Challenge, for the First Time

The anniversary brings a novelty for all running enthusiasts. In addition to the traditional 5-kilometer course, a 10-kilometer race will be held for the first time. It is intended for anyone looking for an extra challenge, whether they run for results, personal goals, or simply for the camaraderie and support of a shared message.

The entry fee for both races is nine euros. Those who register by September 20, 2026, will receive a full starter package that includes a race-branded t-shirt, a generous gift bag from sponsors, electronic timing and result publication, a finisher's medal, on-course refreshments, and a beer and snack at the finish line. After that date, registrations remain open, but the organizers can no longer guarantee the full starter package.

A Message That Transcends Athletic Achievement

The goal of the race is not just to achieve the best possible time. The organizers stress that each participant sends an important message with their steps. "By participating, every runner sends a message about the importance of open conversation about mental health," the organizers say, adding that caring for one's own mental health, as well as the mental health of those around us, is crucial.

For the fifth consecutive year, this event brings together citizens with the same message, the importance of mental health care, physical activity, mutual support, and togetherness. The organizers believe that Kopika on October 10th will be a place where a large number of citizens will gather, ready to support this initiative.
