Dinamo's Big Wish Gets Hurt! Kotarski's Transfer in Question

Croatian national team goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski left the game in Copenhagen's Sunday match, which could jeopardize his move to Maksimir.
Dominik Kotarski, the 26-year-old Croatian national team goalkeeper, got injured on Sunday, August 16, 2026, during his Copenhagen's away match against Randers. The Danish club celebrated a convincing 4-0 victory, but the match was marked by the Croatian goalkeeper's exit from the game.
Kotarski sat down on the pitch on his own, holding his leg. Medical staff intervened, and initially it seemed he might continue, but just a minute later he asked for a substitution. He came off in the 52nd minute, while Sportklub reports the 54th minute, and the severity of the injury has not yet been officially confirmed.
The injury comes at the worst possible time for Zagreb's Dinamo. The Blues had tentatively agreed on a one-year loan deal with Kotarski from Copenhagen, and the goalkeeper himself wants to return to Maksimir. The Danes have no issue with his departure, as they have already brought in Dianta Ramaja from Borussia Dortmund as a potential replacement.
However, if it turns out that Kotarski is more seriously injured, Dinamo will have to start looking for a third option. The situation is further complicated by the fact that Livaković is likely heading to Barcelona, which would leave the Blues without both main goalkeeping solutions.
Meanwhile, Dinamo has announced on social media the Champions League playoff match against Viking, which will be played on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 9 PM at Maksimir. The club confirmed that the North Lower, West Lower, and West Upper stands are sold out, while tickets for the North Upper are available at €12 for members and €17 for other fans.
A portion of the match revenue will be donated to help those affected by the fires in the hardest-hit areas of Croatia, the club announced alongside photos of Luka Stanzl.
