On Monday, August 17, 2026, at approximately 9:15 PM, a serious traffic accident occurred on Brace Radic Street in Jastrebarsko, in which a drunk driver seriously injured a pedestrian. According to the Zagreb Police Department report, a 47-year-old man was driving a Volkswagen Golf with Zagreb license plates under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol level of 1.93 g/kg.
The driver was traveling along Brace Radic Street from west to east, heading towards the intersection with Ban Toma Erdedi Bakac Street. Upon reaching the marked pedestrian crossing, he failed to yield to a 22-year-old pedestrian who was on the crossing, having emerged from behind another Volkswagen Golf with Zagreb plates that was stopped with its turn signal on.
After the collision, the driver's vehicle pinned the pedestrian against the stationary car. In the accident, the pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was treated at the Traumatology Clinic.
The Zagreb police reported the accident on Monday, August 17. They stated that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and failed to yield to the pedestrian at the marked crosswalk.
