Pipsi Release New Version of Anthem on BBB's 40th Birthday

Pips Chips & Videoclips released a new concert version of the song "Dinamo ja volim" today, August 17, 2026. The date is no coincidence, as the release coincides with the 40th anniversary of the founding of the fan group Bad Blue Boys, reports ZG Portal.
The new version was recorded live during the band's three-day residency at Zagreb's Boogaloo at the end of 2024. The song's author and frontman Dubravko Ivaniš Ripper admitted that he had long wrestled with whether to re-record the original from 1992, which he considers charming and irreplaceable. Nevertheless, he concluded that the song deserved a contemporary look and production.
On one of the three sold-out nights, the audience spontaneously sang the song "Jug" and brought the band back for an encore that wasn't planned at all. There is also an extended version of the recording that captures this. The concert version was recorded by Silvio Regvar, with mixing and production by Ivan Božanić and the band.
The Pipsi will be one of four performers at the big birthday concert on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Maksimir Stadium. Alongside them will perform Prljavo kazalište, Psihomodo Pop, and Jura Stublić and the group Film. This will also be the Pipsi's last performance in Zagreb before their concert at the Arena Zagreb, scheduled for Saturday, April 10, 2027.
GNK Dinamo posted an emotional greeting from Zvone Boban on their official Twitter: "To you, without whom nothing is the same - for 40 years it hasn't been the same! To you, who never stopped loving and living the blue - not for a single second of life, not for a single second of any match." Boban also says in his greeting: "In tradition, in rebellion - always your own, forever Dinamo's! Happy Birthday Purgeri! Happy Birthday BBB group! Dinamo Zagreb above all, Dinamo Zagreb above everyone!"
The club also announced a match against Viking FK on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 9 PM at Maksimir. The North Lower, West Lower, and West Upper stands are sold out, while for the North Upper stand, only one section remains on sale at a price of 12 euros for members and 17 euros for other fans. Part of the proceeds from the match will be donated to help those affected by the fires in the hardest-hit areas of Croatia.
