Milka Veselinović, who on May 2, 1991, at Plitvice sang 'Slobodan, send us salad, soon we'll slaughter Croats,' has found herself on the preliminary list of Zadar County for renting a state-owned apartment.
The profile Nikita Stoja, known for exposing corruption and injustice, published on Thursday the information that Milka Veselinović, who in 1991 sang about slaughtering Croats, is on the list for the allocation of a state-owned apartment. According to the published list, Veselinović has applied for the area of the Municipality of Gračac, and the monthly rent for such an apartment would be around 20 euros.
"Yesterday, following up on Karleuša in Vodice, I mentioned Milka Veselinović. The one who on May 2, 1991, at Plitvice sang: 'Slobodan, Slobodan, send us salad, soon we'll slaughter Croats.' Remember, right? A reminder is the video below," wrote Nikita Stoja. She added that she received information that Veselinović lives in Gračac and is on the list of "the Republic of Croatia, Zadar County, for renting a state-owned apartment."
According to the preliminary priority list for housing in assisted areas of Zadar County for 2026, Milka Veselinović is in 35th place. She applied for a two-member household and achieved 176 points. Specifically, this is Model C, which involves renting apartments owned by the state.
Gračac is classified as an assisted area, and scoring is based on social and housing conditions, such as family size, income, length of residence, and current housing status. Individuals who do not own another habitable property in Croatia or abroad, or who have not sold such property in the past 15 years, are eligible for housing.
In her address, Nikita Stoja ironically asked: "Maybe she's also getting a veteran's pension? Maybe we should give her the Grand Order of King Tomislav with sash and the Great Morning Star???" and called for accountability: "And then we wonder about Chetnik activities in Croatia! Where are the veterans??? Chief State Attorney Turudić? President of the Republic? Prime Minister? Government of the Republic of Croatia? Members of Parliament? Political parties in the Republic of Croatia? Secret services????"
The recording with Milka Veselinović was made on May 2, 1991, on one of the most tragic days in the early period of the Homeland War. On that day, 12 Croatian policemen were killed in the massacre in Borovo Selo, and in Polača near Zadar, Franko Lisica, the first victim in Dalmatia, died. The day before, on May 1, an attack occurred on Potkonje and Vrpolje, which was one of the first open armed conflicts initiated by Serbian paramilitary forces led by Milan Martić.
At that time, Veselinović uttered verses that were later used among Serbian forces during the siege of Vukovar: "Slobodan, send us salad, soon we'll have soup, we'll slaughter Croats." Additionally, she made a series of threats and insults against the then Croatian president Franjo Tuđman: "Oh, Tuđman, you old pig, we won't have you as ruler. Oh, Tuđman, f*** your mother, why did you found that Ustasha party."
In her address, she also called for murder: "He should have been killed right there at that table and not allowed to leave. Let them see... When Milošević and Bulatović didn't humiliate him in Croatia, he shouldn't humiliate our people in Montenegro and Serbia, anywhere!"
The preliminary list was published at the beginning of 2026, and objections can be filed against it. The final executive list will be published later. Being on the list does not guarantee the allocation of an apartment; it only shows that the application passed formal verification, scoring, and ranking. The final decision on whether Veselinović will receive an apartment will depend on the final order, possible appeals, and the number of available state apartments in Gračac.
