In the past few days, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković has shown his less formal side. Far from the parliamentary benches and official podiums, he was seen in an extremely relaxed setting in Sinj, surrounded by music, song, and good company.

Embrace with the former arambaša and an Oliver Dragojević hit

Television Jadran released footage from the courtyard of the house of former arambaša Ivo Vukasović Para in Brnaze. It shows the PM in a casual blue polo shirt, surrounded by a large group, with live music playing in the background. The visibly cheerful host led the well-known song "Kad mi dođeš ti" by Oliver Dragojević, and Plenković, initially a bit reserved, joined in singing.

He seemed a bit embarrassed at first, but once the music started, there was no turning back. The former arambaša embraced him and wouldn't let him move until the song ended. The PM let his voice out, raised his hand, and at one point seemed completely lost in the moment. This was not the usual prime ministerial appearance before cameras, but a completely different, laid-back atmosphere.

Ministers and local officials in high spirits

In Plenković's company were also ministers Gordan Grlić Radman and Tonči Glavina, Split's mayor Tomislav Šuta, and Split-Dalmatia County Prefect Blaženko Boban. Everyone was in a good mood, with Minister Grlić Radman particularly standing out, appearing, according to on-site descriptions, as if he would have gladly joined in the embrace and singing.

This is not the first time Plenković has relaxed in Sinj with the same people. In previous years, there was also singing and merrymaking in the courtyard of the same host, so it seems the tradition continues.

The serious side: meeting on waste in Gospić

A day earlier, on August 11, 2026, the PM posted a message of a completely different tone on his Twitter profile. "We held a meeting of the inner cabinet and the coalition regarding the waste situation in Gospić in Lika-Senj County. The main messages are, the criminal proceedings are ongoing, remediation is accelerating, and the coalition is stable, with everyone wanting the perpetrators of these criminal acts to be most severely sanctioned," Plenković wrote.

Two faces of the PM in just 24 hours, from serious statesmanlike messages to casual singing among friends, show the full breadth of his daily activities.
