Police officers from the Đurđevac Police Station have completed a criminal investigation into two men, aged 51 and 22. Both are from the Virovitica-Podravina County area and are suspected of committing the criminal offenses of grievous bodily harm and failure to render assistance.
According to the police, on the night of August 1, 2026, in the town of Budančevica, the suspects physically attacked a 31-year-old man while they were all traveling together in a car. After beating him, they threw him out of the vehicle and left him seriously injured by the roadside without providing any help.
According to a statement from the Đurđevac Police Station, the criminal investigation was completed on August 4, 2026. As stated by police officers, it is suspected that on August 1, during the night hours in Budančevica, the suspects physically attacked the 31-year-old man while he was riding in the car with them.
The injured young man sustained serious bodily injuries, and the suspects were taken into custody after the investigation was concluded. Further steps in the proceedings will be decided by the competent state attorney's office.
